43 6 HILARY PUTNAM The vision and arguments of a famous Harvard philosopher Professor Hilary Putnam teaches philosophy at Harvard University. His work, which spans and inter-relates the area of logic, mind, language and mathematics has exercised a great influence on contemporary philosophy. The three Volumes of his papers are required reading for students and teachers of philosophy. Others of his books, which contain clear and arresting discussions of themes central to modern philosophy, are Reason, Truth and History, Meaning and the Moral Sciences and, most recently, Representation and Reality (1988).
