Stores, schools, bars, offices, theatres and banks are closed, the parking lots empty. When it's discovered that service stations are selling gas in buckets and bottles, they're shut down to cut off fuel for firebombs. Liquor and gun sales are banned, airlines cancel flights to the city, summer courses at Wayne State and several colleges are cancelled, garbage collection and buses are halted, the zoo and Detroit Institute of the Arts are closed. Detroit Receiving and Memorial hospitals are designated to take care of riot victims.
His father was a cop and Olshove loves the job. m. Rioters are looting a grocery store when Olshove's cruiser pulls up.
